A small island
amidst the bustle and hustle on campus, this
shelter is the first learning experience for
the kids. Children of this age are fascinated
by the activities around them that push their desire
to explore and discover.
DMCS hosts huge playrooms with lots of toys
and games that have been specially designed
for children of this age. Drawing, Craft, General
Knowledge, Music, Rhymes and Drama are an integral
part of the curriculum. Students are encouraged
to pursue interests beyond the curricular such
as story telling and reading. The main subjects
taught in the play home are written alphabets,
English, handwriting and written numbers.
At the Kindergarten, the main subjects include
English Language, English Handwriting, English
Dictation, Mathematics and Environmental Science.
Observation and assessment of daily interactions
and work helps the teachers evaluate the progress
of the children in every aspect. The focus
here is the development of the children’s
sensory and motor skills through child- centered
activities.
The emphasis is on the development of the basic
concepts, skills and wider perspectives that
incorporate the educational values the school
upholds.
